I was born in Ipswich, Queensland in 1994; twin and youngest sibling.
As a child I moved around quite a lot, living in over 8 different areas which I believe has made me very adaptable and diverse.
From a young age I always enjoyed reading, finding solace in the books I read. Moving onto my teenage years I would read almost 20 books per month until I finally decided to try my own hand at writing. Since then I've completed one novel (never published) and have at least another 6 in progress. This brought out my creative side.
I was a youth leader for 5 years, starting off as an apprentice and moving up until I was coordinator. This is where I found my love of organising and running events. Being extroverted it made it incredibly easy to talk to people whether it was one on one, a small group or a large crowed. Public speaking came naturally and soon enough not only was I the one on the Microphone out the front each week, I began motivational speaking to youth students. I learned so many different skills during these years; time management, people skills, improvisation - especially when things didn't go according to plan - and confidence.
These attributes certainly helped me in my employment during and after this time.
I've worked in a few different industries including hospitality - both as a bar tender and a waitress - retail, customer service and sales. From being in these jobs I soon learnt what I had a passion for, and what I didn't which has been a massive help in deciding what courses to take at university, and what my major should be. As I didn't go to university straight out of high school I feel I've been better prepared for jumping back into study. It meant I could get straight to the career path I wanted rather than jumping from course to course until I found the right fit.
This is a small glimpse into the path that has lead me to where I am today; Full time student studying a Duel Degree of Business and Arts, part time worker, living out of home, Xbox and YouTube enthusiast, owning a dog and knowing the career I'm working towards is the one for me.
